Dear future self....

2014 has arrived! It is the 2nd day of the new year and I have decided that I will be blogging this year. Many great things happened to me in 2013 and I hope my happiness continues into 2014.

I guess I should start by explaining who I am and why I am doing this. My name is Jasmine, I am a 20 something young woman from the UK. I have been wanting to create this space for a while but never completed the task... if you are into astrology, when I say my sign is Aries, it may not come as a surprise when I say I rarely finish things I start! Somewhat of an annoying trait, but then maybe I use it to excuse my lack of motivation and dedication? Whatever way I look at it, I'm lazy and I need to snap out of it and get on with the many ideas and things I start.

I have many hobbies, which may feature on this blog from time to time. I enjoy making things, cycling, travelling and reading. I am into make up and fashion too but there are many girls out there already who do it amazingly well and I don't think much would be gained (by me or you guys!) from me posting OOTDs or make up tutorials! The main reason for this blog is to have somewhere I can post my everyday thoughts on things that matter to me, whether it be positive or sometimes not so. I am looking forward to the year ahead and as part of this first post, thought I would list my new years resolutions.

  • No chocolate in January! I am terrible when it comes to chocolate, it is pretty much my one and only vice so giving it up completely for January will be an amazing feat! My theory is, that this will also help with my second resolution, by cutting my chocolate cravings off from the start.
  • Eat healthy! I will be sticking to lean meats, whole grains, veggies and fruits and trying to cut out fast food. It is both expensive and doing awful things to my body and mind.
  • Exercise more! I have a gym membership, I never go. This needs to be rectified!
  • Organise my time, in time! I always leave things to the last minute, so I think maybe if I sit down on a Sunday night after work with my diary, I can plan my week. A good example would be... when can I fit the gym in? I have plenty of time to go, but because I never plan it, I end up going home and sitting on tumblr all night instead. A healthy life cannot be done off the cuff.
  • Stop wasting money! I don't need any new clothes or shoes or bags or hats for the foreseeable future. So I will just stop looking.
  • Complete projects before starting new ones! I need to make myself a list of the projects I have on the go already and get these done before buying new fabrics after getting all excitable on Pinterest.

So those are my 6 resolutions. Before I go, I'd like to say 'Hey Jasmine' to my future self and hope you have been successful at these 6 life changing goals!

Peace out!
Jasmine x
